New Head Chef at award-winning Lake District Steakhouse

We’d like to introduce Adrian Wood, head chef at the award-winning AA rosette Brossen Steakhouse at the Inn on the Square to our followers. Adrian joined the steakhouse from his role as sous chef at Lyzzick Hall outside Keswick. Originally from a background of chefs, Adrian followed in the family footsteps, which led him down a path of catering hospitality; from hotels, contract catering, to teaching in colleges, all of which has had a huge influence on his cooking style.

Are you a locavore? For most, you might not know what a locavore is, let alone realise that you might be one. The newly coined term refers to connecting food producers with consumers in a local area, following the increased interest in the local food movement, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of food and support local food producers and suppliers.

Diners love the open kitchen, which lets you watch the thrill of the grill and see your steak being lovingly prepared by the experts. For those of you that live far away and are unable to visit us, we wanted to give you a sneak-peak behind the scenes at the award-winning AA Rosette Brossen Steakhouse.

Walks In The Lake District For You and Your Dog

With our central location in the heart of Keswick, there are plenty of walks right on our doorstep and further afield that you and your four legged friend can take advantage of on a weekend away at the Inn on the Square. It’s not unusual for our guests to ask us to recommend good walks in the Lake District, so to help out we have produced our very own walking book, ‘Hike & Bike’, which contains 16 scenic walks and 10 cycle routes.

A pet friendly hotel with a difference!

A walking break in the Lakes is a fabulous experience to share with family and loved ones, taking in Britain’s finest scenery, of lakes, woodlands, fells, beautiful valleys and gorges. For many of us, dogs are considered part of the family too, so why should they have to miss out on all the fun… bring them along with you!
