Over the years, gin has gone from strength to strength, from mother’s ruin to one of the most popular spirits in bars today; with gin sales tripling since 2009. According to the Office for National Statistics, drinkers spent £461m on gin last year, which is up by 32.5pc on the year, that compares with just £126m spent by gin-lovers back in 2009.

The Back Bar wins Keswick in Bloom Award for ‘Best Pub’

The UNDEFEATED Man vs Food 72oz steak challenge is back!
In October 2017, we challenged our customers to demolish a 72oz rump steak, with chunky chips, onion rings and a sauce of their choice. This challenge reached over 100,000 people on social media, attracting visitors and many locals to attempt the monstrous 72oz; however the challenge remains undefeated and it’s back and hungrier than ever!

Inn on the Square continues to impress and improve
A recent AA inspection has revealed that we have retained our four-star rating and AA rosette status for a third year running at the Inn on the Square, with an impressive AA merit score of 81%.
Our chef’s are game for anything!
There’s a big different between winter and summer cooking, and at the Inn on the Square we aim to change our menus seasonally to offer our guests the best of the best. Nothing marks the change of the culinary season in Britain, quite like August’s Glorious Twelfth, which marks the first day of the shooting season. So for that reason we wanted to join in the celebrations by holding a themed game dinner on Wednesday 16th August, with all the excitement around the red-legged grouse.
