Over the years, gin has gone from strength to strength, from mother’s ruin to one of the most popular spirits in bars today; with gin sales tripling since 2009. According to the Office for National Statistics, drinkers spent £461m on gin last year, which is up by 32.5pc on the year, that compares with just £126m spent by gin-lovers back in 2009.
Since opening the doors to our hotel, we have been well known for our extensive gin collection, stocking over 25 different gins behind the bar, and now we have just introduced the latest addition to our gin collection – Aviation American Gin, which is owned by actor and producer, Ryan Reynolds, who states, “I’ve tried every gin on the planet and Aviation is, hands down, the best. Also, I don’t recommend trying every gin on the planet. Stick with this one.”
We’re always on the lookout for new and exciting gins to add to our collection, it’s nice to branch out and have a good variety for our customers to choose from. When we came across Aviation Gin, there was no question that it deserved a place behind our bar, making it the first and only American gin at Inn on the Square.
