A recent AA inspection has revealed that we have retained our four-star rating and AA rosette status for a third year running at the Inn on the Square, with an impressive AA merit score of 81%.

At the Inn on the Square, we pride ourselves on being the only four-star hotel in Keswick, and we’re over the moon that the top quality and service that we offer has been recognised and endorsed once again from our recent AA inspection.
The artistic flair of Head Chef, Dan Lansley and his team of chefs are testament to the AA Rosette accolade, this along with the front of house staff, all work tirelessly to offer the perfect guest experience.
The AA inspector dined on ‘Braised octopus avocado, red pepper, pine nut and Danish knaekbread crisps’ to start, followed by ‘Rib eye steak (40-day dry salt aged)’, and ‘chocolate fondant, olive oil sorbet and honeycomb’ for dessert. After which he commented, “An accurately cooked fondant, flavours very good, a simple classic and indulgent dessert. Olive oil sorbet was rather good, a great foil for the richness and temperature of the fondant. Honeycomb delightful.”
The report highlighted a commendable strong standard within the hotel, with notable cleanliness throughout. The public areas, bedrooms and bathrooms were noted for offering style, quality and comfort, with Brossen Steakhouse providing an enjoyable dining experience.
About 50 per cent of the hotels and restaurants in the AA Restaurant Guide have a Rosette, which is given to eateries that stand out in their area and where food is prepared with skill using quality ingredients.
