With 34 luxury bedrooms that urge you to unwind, staying at the Inn on the Square is all about the comfiest type of indulgence.
Whether you’ve got a soft spot for snoozing or you’re seeking some pure comfort after an adventuresome day in The Lakes – at the Inn on the Square you’re guaranteed the ultimate laze-ability.
As a wise Irish proverb goes “A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book” - with our exceedingly comfy Sealy beds we’ll provide the long sleeps if you bring the laughter (many laughs can also be found in our cool Front Bar and Lounge or Back Bar).
Simply snooze, sleep or laze to your heart’s content in beds built by local Cumbrian craftsmen (just 20 miles away) and enjoy our crisp white sheets, fluffy robes, the finest tea and coffee with tasty chocolate biscuits plus free superfast WIFI. You can even pop on your favourite tunes or watch a film via our connectable plasma TV’s before unravelling in the luxurious rain shower in your en-suite shower room (please note that we don’t have baths in any of our bedrooms).
Our bedrooms are all bespoke so they come in different shapes and sizes from single to twin and double rooms (some of which can handily fit in an extra bed for a child).
We love a good dog, so your four-legged-friend is welcome in all of our bedrooms.

Say hello to our Herdwick Bedrooms
Our 13 luxuriously modern Herdwick bedrooms boast fab views over Keswick towards Latrigg and Skiddaw. Celebrating the famous Cumbrian Herdwick sheep (see what we’ve done there?) each room has a wall dedicated to our favourite local sheep – just in case you can’t spot any out of your window.
Treat yourself with our Town Bedrooms
Feel part of chocolate-box-esque Keswick with one of our contemporary and super comfortable Town bedrooms. With the majority of Town rooms overlooking the Market Square you can sit back in your arm chair and get cosy whilst watching the world go by.
If you’re on the second or third floor of the Inn you’ll also have great views over to Catbells mountain where you might catch a stunning Cumbrian sunset or two.
Get cosy in a Hygge room
Our compact and cosy, yet well-appointed Hygge rooms (pronunced: hue-gah. Meaning cosy in Danish) have all the comforts of our Herdwick and Town rooms and are located in the town house part of the hotel with fell views.
The rooms, with their small double, luxuriously comfortable Sealy beds, have been designed for relaxing after a hard day, enjoying life and creating a cosy evening whether you’re staying alone or with someone.
Easy Access Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms on the first floor of the Inn which have been designed for easy access. You can reach the first floor via the lift and easily make your way to the easy access bedrooms from here.
Once in the bedroom we have kept the rooms spacious whilst in the bathroom the shower is level with the floor and you will find that there are handrails within the shower and by the toilet.
