numbers, turning back time'

Having just undergone a major re-furbishment the
former "GLT's" - Golden Lion Tap is now fully open for business.

Situated in the heart of Barnstaple the former 17th Century coaching house retains many of it's historic features boasting original beamed ceilings and flagstone floors the public house one of the oldest in the market town to survive without being over modernised. To the left of the picture below shows the pub in the early 1930s.

The former nightclub "GLT's" has been transformed with a large screen TV for all the major sporting events and now boasts of four full size league pool tables, Thursday nights have now seen the introduction of Salsa Classes which appeals to a mixed age group.

The building does hold a few secrets and the presence on the old man and his dog & the little sad girl sat on the steps has been seen and verified by several medium's, but what is a pub without the odd spirit!
